Sept 13 830-430pm - Soul Shop Suicide Prevention Workshop
There is still time to register for any of the FREE faith-based Soul Shop™ Suicide Prevention workshops across the state September 9th - 16th at various locations. These one-day workshops (8:30am-4:30pm) are designed for clergy, staff, lay leaders and community partners to develop soul-safe communities and make a positive impact in our communities.
Soul Shop Suicide Prevention training is an important priority of the Episcopal Church in Wyoming. As communities of faith, we have both a theological obligation and a call by God to face this challenge head-on. We are hopeful that the majority of our clergy will complete this critical training. We want to reach all faith leaders and members of your community who would benefit from this valuable training so please also share with interfaith groups, ministerial associations and other helping organizations.
We are disappointed with the registration numbers for our sessions throughout the diocese. Participants MUST pre-register in order to ensure that we have enough food and workbook materials. Please get the word out and invite participation in this important initiative!
Workshop Schedule:
● Monday, September 9: Region 4 – St. Mark’s Cheyenne
● Tuesday, September 10: Region 3 – St. Mark’s Casper

Sept 18 at 7pm - Lessons from Lester Hunt: Combatting the Crises of Suicide, Hatred, and Division
The Lander community is invited to an evening of remembrance, prayer, and reflection as we commemorate the 70th anniversary of the tragic death of former Lander resident and U.S. Senator Lester Hunt. This service will be held on Wednesday, September 18th, at 7:00 PM at Trinity Episcopal Church.
Senator Lester Hunt died by suicide on June 19, 1954, after being bullied and extorted by Senator Joseph McCarthy and others for political gain. His death was a profound loss for Wyoming and continues to serve as a powerful reminder of the dangers of political divisiveness and polarization.
The event will feature Senator Cale Case and speakers from the Fremont County Suicide Prevention Taskforce, Wind River Pride, as well as other community members who will share their insights on the lessons from Senator Hunt’s life and death. These speakers will address the ongoing challenges of political polarization, the importance of mental health awareness, and the critical need for compassion and community in our society.
